Queens Drive flash floods were 'not caused by burst pipe'

A man and woman died after becoming trapped in a black Mercedes in deep flood water on Queens Drive in Mossley Hill. Police were called to the area at around 9.20pm on Saturday after reports of a concern for the safety of a man and a woman. They were found trapped inside their car by emergency services and taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead. Liverpool City Council said Queens Drive is expected to remain closed for sometime while an investigation takes place.
