The former head of the Protected Landscape Area (PLA) Leoš Štefka disagrees with the planned inclusion of the Punkva Caves, the Macocha Abyss and the Kateřinská Cave in the Moravian Karst in UNESCO. He led the administration of this protected landscape area for 40 years. According to him, the famous caves are already so badly affected by human activity that they do not belong on the list of islands of almost untouched nature.
