It was minus eight degrees in the Šumava Mountains this morning, and a freezing record from 1979 fell in Strakonice.
In the Šumava Mountains, temperatures were approaching minus ten degrees Celsius in the morning. Several places in southern Bohemia recorded historically low values for May 7. For example, in Strakonice, the record from 1979, when minus 1.5 degrees Celsius was measured there, is no longer valid. The new record is minus 1.8 degrees. Frosty mornings will continue in the coming days.
