Puma sighting confirmed in a park in central Texas

A member of the San Marcos city trail team, 50 miles from San Antonio, spotted a puma Thursday morning in a popular park in the region. According to the city, the sighting took place in the Purgatory Creek Natural Area, near the Dante Path, in the area known as Middle Purgatory. “The animal was seen coming down a tree before fleeing quickly. The Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife has been notified,” reads the statement.
