- Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu, stated the promotions recognized dedication and professional excellence, requiring officers to complete written examinations and oral interviews to qualify.
- Additionally, the commission elevated 17 Deputy Commissioners of Police to Commissioners of Police, 35 Chief Superintendents to Assistant Commissioners , and 19 Assistant Commissioners to Deputy Commissioners.
- Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs at the Police Service Commission, confirmed the list was conveyed to the Inspector-General of Police for immediate implementation, as Argungu noted officers failing three times face retirement.
- The commission remains dedicated to transparency and global best practices in all promotional exercises, with oversight from Hon. Justice Paul Adamu Galumje and Secretary to the commission, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani.
