Prosecutors urge life sentences for Alexander luxury real estate brokers in sex trafficking case
Prosecutors say the brothers drugged and raped at least 70 victims over two decades, while defense lawyers sought 15-year terms and maintained their innocence.
On Wednesday, federal prosecutors urged a New York judge to sentence Oren Alexander, Alon Alexander, and Tal Alexander to life in prison for drugging and raping dozens of women over a two-decade stretch.
Convicted in March of sex trafficking, the brothers began assaulting women as early as 2001 or 2002 when prosecutors identified at least 70 victims exploited during luxury getaways.
Eleven women testified at trial describing how they lost control of their bodies; the Probation Office recommended 15-year terms per victim, totaling 180-year sentences for Alon and Tal Alexander and 195 years for Oren Alexander.
Defense lawyers recommended 15-year terms, describing the brothers as "dedicated husbands and fathers" who "steadfastly maintain their complete innocence" while citing "remarkably weak" evidence and "overwhelming prejudice" regarding Judge Valerie Caproni.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 27. The brothers, formerly known as real estate's "A Team" for their high-ticket sales, have remained jailed since their 2024 arrests.
