- Additionally, Mamaweswen, The North Shore Tribal Council receives $78,244 from the Local Food Infrastructure Fund to support local food infrastructure, addressing geographic disparities and high transportation costs in North Shore communities.
- Chief Brent Niganobe said the hydroponic technology enables year-round vegetable production, noting through a "for us, by us" approach, Kinoomaagewin strengthens local food production capacity and advances community-led food sovereignty.
- The Honourable Tim Hodgson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, stated these investments recognize the importance of Indigenous knowledge, helping build capacity and partnerships to prepare for growing challenges facing forests and communities.
