The prefecture of Seine-Saint-Denis has asked the city of Saint-Denis to withdraw the Palestinian flag affixed in support. Socialist mayor Mathieu Hanotin raised the Palestinian flag in support of Gaza, along with Hala Abu Hassira, Ambassador of Palestine to France.
The municipality's gesture is part of a "global weekend of mobilization with Palestine." The prefect asked this Sunday to withdraw the flag, "in the name of the principle of neutrality of public services".
