Princess of Wales calls on businesses to value 'time and tenderness' in rare speech

Yesterday, the Princess of Wales opened the Future Workforce Summit at Salesforce Tower in the City of London with her first major live speech in about two years.
The Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood, launched in 2023, hosted the summit and produced a report last year estimating a £45.5 billion national benefit from workplace changes.
The Princess of Wales said `My passion and the work of The Centre for Early Childhood, stems from one essential truth; that the love we feel in our earliest years fundamentally shapes who we become and how we thrive as adults`, she said, urging business leaders to value 'time and tenderness' alongside productivity.
She remained after a private lunch to listen to taskforce chief executives from Ikea, NatWest Group, Deloitte, Aviva and Iceland discuss firm-level initiatives and business changes.
The taskforce's report, `The Human Advantage`, highlights AI's limits and a premium on human skills, with 81% of business leaders expecting greater demand in five to 10 years.
