Volkswagon Considers Building Chinese Cars in Germany

Summary
Will Chinese goods soon be rolling off the assembly lines of VW's German plants? Lower Saxony's Minister-President Olaf Lies certainly believes that this should be "openly discussed and examined." He said this on Sunday (April 19) in an interview with the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" (noz). The Prime Minister stated that it was impossible to prevent Chinese automakers from increasingly pushing into the European market. At the same time, he said, it was essential to ensure the utilization of existing factories. So, are Chinese cars being produced on VW's German assembly lines an opportunity? Perhaps one that could save jobs and entire plants? Or would the company be opening Pandora's box?
