Energy Experts Say Downstream Coal Processing Into Gasoline Will Strengthen Indonesia's Independence
President Prabowo Subianto last Saturday unveiled the government's plan to develop coal-based gasoline as part of an effort to reduce Indonesia's dependence on imported fuel. Ali Ahmadi Achyak, Executive Director of the Center for Energy Security Studies, believes that downstreaming coal into gasoline could be an alternative to strengthening Indonesia's energy independence.
