Premier League newboys Ipswich appoint O'Neil as manager
Ipswich appointed Neil as manager today, marking new leadership for the Premier League side as they prepare for the upcoming top-flight season.
Following Kieran McKenna's departure earlier this month, the club sought new leadership after McKenna guided them to promotion from the Sky Bet Championship last season.
Former Bournemouth and Wolves boss Neil brings experience, having led Strasbourg to the European Conference League semi-finals and the Coupe de France, with backroom staff Tim Jenkins, Neil Critchley, and Ames joining him.
The team will play their first Premier League game on August 22, hosting Sunderland at Portman Road, before traveling to Old Trafford to face Manchester United and then hosting Liverpool.
As the 20th manager in the club's 90-year history, Neil added: "There is a strong vision and ambition at this club," acknowledging responsibility to Ipswich and Suffolk supporters.
