Erling Haaland Urges Man City to 'Get Angry' After Missing Out on Premier League Title
Erling Haaland said City should turn a second straight title miss into anger and motivation after finishing with two domestic trophies.
On Tuesday, Arsenal secured the Premier League title after Manchester City drew 1-1 at Bournemouth. Striker Erling Haaland netted a dramatic equalizer in the fifth minute of added time, but the result confirmed City's second consecutive season without the trophy.
Haaland urged his Manchester City teammates to "get angry" at the title miss, using the disappointment as fuel for next season. "We should feel a fire inside our belly," he said in an interview with City Studios.
Manager Pep Guardiola faces uncertainty as reports suggest he may depart after Sunday's match against Aston Villa. Despite missing the Premier League, City concluded the campaign with two trophies, having secured the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.
Bournemouth secured European football for the first time in the club's 127-year history, guaranteeing a Europa League spot. Midfielder Alex Scott hailed the "massive" achievement ahead of Sunday's final match under head coach Andoni Iraola.
The Norway international noted that while City won two trophies, "Everything's relative; it was better than last season," though Haaland acknowledged missing the league title remains a significant disappointment for the squad.
