Everton's Owners Friedkin Put the Club up for Sale
The owners said they will consider bids only from parties they believe can build on the club’s momentum.
The Friedkin Group announced on Friday it is exploring the sale of Everton Football Club, less than two years after acquiring a controlling interest in the club.
In December 2024, TFG acquired a 94.1 per cent stake from Farhad Moshiri, subsequently overseeing the club's move from Goodison Park to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The American owner is "exploring new investment options," including a "potential sale of a controlling interest," as the club stabilizes following financial uncertainty.
Prospective buyers must be "parties who we strongly believe will be the right stewards to take the Club forward," according to the ownership statement.
Throughout the sale process, TFG will continue supporting the Club in all necessary ways, maintaining focus on achieving success on the pitch and serving the communities it represents.
The new field, Hill Dickinson, did not prevent investors from taking a serious step out of the Everton Club in the face of various economic repercussions.
