Heavy smoke in Summit County Saturday night is from western Colorado fires, officials say
Heavy smoke that descended on Summit County Saturday night, June 27, is emanating from wildfires in western Colorado, according to the Red, White and Blue Fire Protection District. In a Facebook post, the district asked residents to not call 911 “unless you see flames.” An SC Alert issued around 9:40 p.m. Saturday night stated also that the smoke is from wildfires in western Colorado and Utah and “may be visible this evening and following days.”…
Pre-evacuation orders Issued due to Jones and Snyder fires
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office has issued pre-evacuation orders for all properties on BS Road west of 11 5/10 Road to the Utah border in the Glade Park area due to the growing Snyder and Jones fires in the area.
