The police in Prague are testing the concept of fast and agile motorbikes, which would be used by first-line patrols. They are BMW machines, and the police have three at their disposal so far. They were introduced on Monday morning. The project was paid for by the city, and the motorbikes cost two and a half million crowns.
The Prague police's emergency unit now includes police officers on motorcycles. They will be sent to places where it would be more difficult for a patrol car to reach. The Prague police management has so far purchased three motorcycles; if they prove to be effective in operation, they will purchase more.
