In Indonesia, forest fires continue to ravage parts of the island of Borneo, where heavy smoke stifles several areas. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto made the trip this weekend to chair firefighting meetings. He ordered a reinforcement of the deployment of troops. Faced with the scale of the fires on the island, 1,500 additional troops will therefore be deployed from outside Borneo.
