Poundland will close seven more UK stores in February, totaling 172 closures since August 2025, as part of a court-approved restructuring after its acquisition by Gordon Brothers.
Next month sees seven more Poundland stores set to shut after recent rounds of exits, including Winton, Chichester, Coatbridge, Feltham, Crayford, Nottingham , and Urmston, raising total closures since August 2025 to 172.
After its June takeover by Gordon Brothers, Poundland launched a wide restructuring plan, and the High Court approved it in August, leading to store and warehouse closures affecting around 1,300 jobs.
Data show January closures including Bristol Avon Meads on January 29, while closing Poundland stores run clearance sales with discounts up to 40%.
The network's scale has fallen sharply from more than 800 stores to 651 by the end of 2025, reflecting significant restructuring and store closures.
Management says it will keep hundreds of Poundland stores operating while offering special reductions, with Barry Williams stating 'we know we still have much to do'.
