Post Office campaigner Alan Bates knighted in king’s birthday honours
Alan Bates, campaigner in Post Office scandal, to be knighted after being recognized on King's Birthday Honours list. More than 1,000 UK individuals received honors.
Mr. Bates, founder of Justice for Subpostmasters Alliance, accepts honor on behalf of group, not just for himself. He expressed being honored by the knighthood.
Former cyclist Chris Boardman, ex-Liverpool midfielder Graeme Souness, and ex-England footballer Karen Carney received honors in the sporting world.
