Nearly 250 flights have been canceled in the Polynesian islands, due to a strike by territorial officials since December 6 and followed by almost all firefighters from 43 airfields.
The Federation of Polynesian Government Officials is calling for a 40% increase in the index point for community officials, considered “surrealistic and excessive” by the Polynesian President, Moetai Brotherson.
According to the main inter-island airline in French Polynesia, Air Tahiti, some 250 flights have been cancelled, affecting 4,200 passengers, including 800 tourists.
