Polleros Fooled on ‘Easy Route’ · Global Voices

Tucson, Arizona—With the help of 34 rescue towers in the middle of the Arizona Desert, during fiscal year 2025, U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) Search, Trauma and Rescue (Borstar) agents from the Tucson Sector and Air and Marine Operations (AMO) crew managed to rescue more than 400 migrants and recorded the deaths of approximately 80 more people who crossed the border thinking it would be an easy crossing.
