Poll finds some support for private airport operators, but more than a quarter unsure
A Leger poll found that 43% of Canadians support private operators running airports in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver, while 31% oppose the proposal.
Twenty-Seven percent of respondents were unsure about or did not know about the proposal.
Support was strongest in Quebec, while opposition was highest in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Leger surveyed 1,533 Canadians online from September 19 to 21, and Prime Minister Mark Carney said he was seeking private investors for the four airports.
