President Trump Announces 2nd Visit to South Carolina Ahead of Midterms

On Thursday, Oct. 29, President Donald Trump will return to Rock Hill, S.C., for a rally, marking his second visit to the state in a week.
Earlier this month, Trump supported Republican Sen. Darline Graham during an Oct. 21 rally in Pendleton at Clemson's T. Ed Garrison Arena, where she faces Democrat Annie Andrews.
Ahead of the Nov. 3 midterms, Trump is crisscrossing the country to drum up support for GOP candidates, having logged about 70 hours aboard Air Force One this month alone.
While the president must return to the White House for a Halloween event, the visit comes amid local friction as Republican Rep. Ralph Norman's son, Warren Norman, announced he will vote for Andrews.
As other local races, including the 1st Congressional District, remain competitive, the nonpartisan Cook Political Report considers the South Carolina Senate race to 'lean Republican,' making the contest nearly a tossup.
