Police probe after schoolboy beaten unconscious in ‘shocking’ attack

Police responded at about 20:45 BST on Friday to an attack where a 14-year-old boy was beaten unconscious at Back Beach, Teignmouth.
The assault occurred during a large-scale disorder involving 50 to 100 teenagers and adults, with the victim attacked by four adults wielding weapons.
The victim, who suffered minor head injuries, bruises, and cuts, required hospital treatment before being discharged, and reports say the attack ended after intervention by bystanders.
Detective Sergeant Emma Boobyer urged witnesses to come forward while asking the public not to share circulating footage, stating, "we can check on their welfare."
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of affray, maintain ongoing CCTV investigations, and plan increased patrols over the weekend to address community concerns.
