PointsKash Completes Strategic Acquisition of ChainBytes Software Assets and Adds Founder Eric Grill to Accelerate AI-Powered Fintech Platform
The all-stock deal adds ChainBytes founder Eric Grill to PointsKash as the company expands its AI-driven financial technology platform.
On Tuesday, financial technology company PointsKash announced it completed the strategic acquisition of proprietary software assets from ChainBytes in an all-stock transaction that closed Friday, July 10, 2026.
This strategic 'acqui-hire' combines valuable software assets with experienced engineering talent, aiming to expand PointsKash's proprietary software portfolio and accelerate development of its AI-driven financial technology ecosystem.
ChainBytes Founder Eric Grill has joined PointsKash as Principal Software Architect, working alongside Lead Programming Architect Peter Keating to lead the Company's next generation of software innovation.
PointsKash Chief Executive Officer and President Michael Herron noted the transaction focuses on acquiring "exceptional talent," while Grill said the opportunity allows him to build systems at a "much larger scale."
Beginning in 2027, PointsKash will integrate the new software platform into its broader ecosystem, supporting future enhancements across KashPoint self-service financial centers, PK Pay digital banking, and enterprise merchant solutions.
