Tadej Pogacar destroyed the field with a stunning solo attack to win Liege-Bastogne-Liege on Sunday, the Slovenian's sixth Monument victory of his career.Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) attacked with 34km remaining of the 254km trek as the field tackled the iconic Cote de la Redoute and he then surged clear.
The Slovenian champion hit the Redoute and defeated his opponents by nearly two minutes of winning. A complicated race for Van der Poel, who won the flight for third place.
No surprise among the men in Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Tadej Pogacar did not tolerate opposition and already placed 'La Doyenne' at La Redoute in a decisive fold. For women, however, the race was only decided in the last hundred meters. Our Café Koers analysts Marc Sergeant and Niels Verdijck saw it happen live from Kaffee Allex in Ghent.

His UAE Team Emirates support cast drove a fierce pace, with no one able to live with Pogacar when he attacked with 35km to go. Romain Bardet and Mathieu van der Poel finished second and third."
