Under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement programme, the UAE has signed 38 agreements since September 2021, including deals with India and Indonesia, both BRICS members.
The grouping currently comprises 11 countries, including the UAE, which joined as a full member in January 2024 to expand economic partnerships and strengthen its global market presence.
India's 2026 Chairship is guided by the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability," as the nation seeks to translate expanded BRICS representation into meaningful cooperation and tangible outcomes.
