Saturday marked 80 years since the rampage of the German Gestapo and SS police units in the Wallachian settlement of Ploština in southeastern Moravia. At the very end of World War II, the Nazis killed over fifty people in the vicinity of Drnovice in the Zlín region, 24 of whom were residents of the settlement in Ploština alone. They were accused of collaborating with and helping the partisans.
