- On Monday, Netflix released the trailer for The Lord of the Flies series adaptation, a four-episode show starring young actors Winston Sawyers and David McKenna as boys who crash-land on a tropical island.
- Adapted by Adolescence co-creator Jack Thorne, the series reimagines William Golding's 1954 novel. Emmy winner Thorne depicts the descent into savagery as castaways organize under Ralph, played by Sawyers, and his intellectual supporter Piggy, played by McKenna.
- The production features music by Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer, Kara Talve, Cristobal Tapia de Veer, and an ensemble of more than 30 boys playing the "biguns" and "littluns."
- Produced by Eleven and One Shoe Films, the series premieres on Netflix in the U.S. on May 4, following its international release in February on BBC, BBC One, and Stan.
- Thorne told Tudum the series explores societal conversations about boys, saying, "We're losing a generation of boys, and we're losing it because of the hate they are ingesting.
