Plaid Cymru Election Manifesto: Payments for Children and 100 New GPs
Rhun ap Iorwerth said the plan would cut waiting times, offer free childcare from 9 months and 4 years, and add 100 new GPs.
On Thursday, Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth launched the party's Senedd election manifesto in Wrexham, outlining plans for a "modern, confident Wales" ahead of the May 7 polls.
The manifesto pledges to cut NHS waiting times through 10 new surgical hubs and offers free childcare for children aged nine months to four years, valued at roughly £32,000.
Party leader Rhun ap Iorwerth also introduced the Welsh Child Payment pilot, "Cynnal," providing £10 weekly to eligible households, alongside a new Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Plan for schools.
Plaid Cymru proposed a National Commission for Wales to explore constitutional options and lay foundations for a future independence referendum, drawing inspiration from the SNP.
Voters head to the polls on May 7 to elect 96 new MSs, with opinion polls indicating Plaid Cymru is vying for first place in their bid to oust Labour.
