Pittsfield Babe Ruth 13-Year-Olds curb Westfield comeback, force decisive Game 3

WESTFIELD – Pittsfield rallied from one run down, scoring four runs in the sixth inning and staved off a late Westfield comeback to squeak out a 5-4 win over the Whip City’s All Stars in the Babe Ruth Baseball Western Massachusetts 13-Year-Olds championship game Sunday night at Bullens Field.

The Pittsfield 14s took the Western Mass. title from Westfield Sunday night, while the 13s evened up their series. Westfield did win another nail-biter against the Southern Berkshire 16s.

Tommy Oteri turned in a dominant all-around performance to power Ridley to an 8-0 win over Mifflin County in the Babe Ruth 13U Pennsylvania state tournament on Sunday. Oteri tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out eight. He also came through at the plate, notching two singles and driving in three runs to help his cause.
