Pitkin County’s proposed 2027 budget is the largest in its history — $450 million — as the county enters a period of “generational capital investment.”  The proposed budget is up roughly 44% from the 2026 budget — a jump driven almost entirely by the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport Modernization Project.
