Pilot of larger plane was looking away from smaller plane in Atlanta airport mishap, report says
The pilot of a larger Delta Air Lines Airbus 350 was looking away when its right wing struck the tail of a smaller Bombardier CRJ-900 at Atlanta airport on September 10.
The National Transportation Safety Board reported that the Airbus was taxiing at 14 mph while watching for oncoming traffic.
The impact knocked the tail assembly off the smaller jet at a 90-degree angle, causing damage to both aircraft.
