Fragment, dated between the third and fourth centuries, contains verses from Book XII of the work.
The Utrecht University Library in the Netherlands announced on Tuesday that they have discovered a small fragment of Homer's Odyssey that is about 1,700 years old. It is a rare copy, the Dutch institution said, of which only about thirty similar ones are known in the world.
One researcher recognized some characteristic words of Homer's epics and an analysis made it possible to determine that they corresponded to the book XII of La Odyssey.
