Pete Buttigieg is becoming a prolific endorser of Democrats, with some clues to his future
Pete Buttigieg has become one of the most prolific midterm campaigners among potential 2028 presidential contenders, backing candidates in more than 30 races across a dozen states.
Unlike many 2028 prospects, Buttigieg holds no government position, giving him political freedom to support Black Democrats and address the dearth of support that hampered his 2020 White House bid.
Endorsements of Harris, Aaron Ford, Jasmine Clark, and Chedrick Greene build a record for future debates, while he recently campaigned with Jamie Ager in North Carolina to support flipping a Congressional District.
Through The Bench, an organization recruiting the next generation of Democratic leaders, Buttigieg is building a network, while 2028 hopefuls Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro, and Bernie Sanders pursue similar midterm strategies.
Focusing on areas where President Donald Trump previously won, Buttigieg aims to demonstrate his ability to break through in Republican territory, positioning himself distinctly ahead of the 2028 nominating process.
