A national study, unveiled on Monday 15 September 2025 by Santé publique France and the Agence nationale de sécurité santé de l'alimentation, de l'environnement et du travail (Anses), shows that French people living near the vineyards are more contaminated with pesticides than others. However, these results do not allow, at this stage, to accurately determine the potential impacts on health.
The findings of the study, released on Monday 15 September, frustrate those who are still waiting for precise data on the health impact of application in a vineyard-shaped department.
This work by Public Health France and the Anses shows that French people living near vineyards "are more exposed to plant protection products" than others.
