Netflix Is Reportedly Working on a Live-Action Persona TV Show With Star Trek: Picard Alum as Its Showrunner

- Netflix is developing a live-action series based on the Persona video game franchise, with writer and showrunner Christopher Monfette attached to the early-stage project.
- Developed by P-Studios, a division of Atlus, and published by Sega, the Persona franchise includes 6 main entries and 15 spinoffs, originating as a spinoff of the Shin Megami Tensei games.
- Monfette previously wrote 12 Monkeys and Star Trek: Picard, while executive producers Shawn Levy and Robert Atwood of 21 Laps lead production alongside Story Kitchen and Sega executive Toru Nakahara.
- 21 Laps most famously produced the Netflix hit Stranger Things, which concluded last year, while the streamer previously adapted The Witcher, Arcane, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.
- Netflix declined to comment on the reported series, which remains in early development with no release date or casting details announced; this would not be the streamer's first video game adaptation.
