Cuban Leyanis Perez Hernandez won the gold medal in the women's triple jump at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Four-time world champion Yulimar Rojas took the bronze medal this time.
The Venezuelan athlete competed again after almost two years of absence for an injury, and won medal in the Tokyo World Cup with a jump, in the rain, of 14.76 meters. The winner of the gold was the Cuban Leyanis Pérez
After winning the title at the World Championships in March, Cuban Leyanis Pérez scored the best performance of the year on the triple jump (14.94 m) to win her second gold medal of the year, ahead of Thea Lafond and Yulimar Rojas who completed the podium.
