P.E.I. considers banning people born after certain date from buying tobacco products
Health officials in P.E.I. propose a ban on tobacco sales to those born after a certain date as a measure to discourage smoking.
The proposal, previously seen in New Zealand, is part of a consultation paper from P.E.I.'s Health Department and chief public health office.
A five-year wellness plan in P.E.I. aims for a 'tobacco-free generation,' using the example of banning cigarette sales for those born after Jan. 1, 2009.
