Veterans, dignitaries and community members gathered at Pearl Harbor on Sunday to mark the 84th anniversary of the surprise attack that pulled the United States into World War II.
The 84th anniversary of the historic event did not have the presence of veterans of war, all centenarians.
The attack on Pearl Harbor began at 7:55 a.m. After the raid, which killed 2,300 American soldiers, the United States entered World War II. "I can still see what happened," said one survivor. This year, for the first time, there were no surviving soldiers present at the 84th anniversary commemorations.
