New PCO accreditation rules for Palace media deferred

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) has put on hold the implementation of its new guidelines for members of the media covering the President amid questions raised by the Malacanang Press Corps (MPC).

Hasan Nasbi officially resigned as Head of the Presidential Communications Office or Presidential Communication Officer (PCO). Hasan has stated that his last day as Head of PCO will be on April 21, 2025.

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) has postponed the implementation of new accreditation guidelines for journalists covering Malacañang and the activities of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. This was after the Malacañang Press Corps (MPC) held a dialogue with PCO Secretary Jay Ruiz about the changes, particularly the provisions that could potentially limit the freedom of newsrooms in selecting reporters they will assign to the beat.
