McCartney Reveals Advice He Gave Swift on Wedding Day
McCartney said Swift asked for the Beatles classic, and he joked that she should sing along during the wedding performance.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Paul McCartney revealed that Taylor Swift specifically requested he perform "I Want to Hold Your Hand" at her July 3 wedding to Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The music legends share a respectful bond, having supported each other's careers; McCartney attended the Eras Tour in 2024, and Swift visited his Fonda Theatre concert in March.
During the ceremony, McCartney urged Swift to join him on stage, telling her, "You should sing along, and you should sing it to your man." The audience laughed at the suggestion.
While McCartney performed the 1964 hit, Swift's husband Kelce also took to the stage that evening. Brother Jason Kelce later praised his singing ability on the Ross Tucker Football Podcast.
McCartney previously likened Swift's worldwide fame to Beatlemania, noting she is "very clever" and does not need his professional advice. The comparison underscores their parallel trajectories as global cultural phenomena.
