Bulega to Make MotoGP Return with VR46
Bulega will leave Ducati’s WorldSBK team after 2026 and move to MotoGP with VR46 in 2027 after winning 26 of 27 races this season.
Aruba.it Racing Ducati confirmed on Wednesday that Nicolo Bulega will depart the factory WorldSBK team at the end of the 2026 season, clearing his path to MotoGP next year.
Bulega has dominated the 2026 WorldSBK season, winning 26 of 27 races, following Toprak Razgatlioglu's 2025 departure to MotoGP. This success prompted Ducati to support his transition to the premier class.
The Italian will join VR46 Racing next season, taking the seat vacated by Franco Morbidelli, whose departure from the squad was confirmed earlier this week.
"His progression makes us particularly proud," said Aruba.it Racing Ducati team principal Stefano Cecconi, praising the rider's integration into the sporting family and professionalism.
Before moving to MotoGP in 2027, Bulega aims to clinch this year's WorldSBK title at the Cremona Circuit later this month, marking his final goal with Ducati.
