Lauren Huxley’s Attacker Denied Parole
A closed hearing will decide whether Robert Black Farmer can be released after serving 24.5 years for a 2005 attack on Lauren Huxley.
On Thursday, the NSW State Parole Authority denied parole for Robert Black Farmer, who brutally attacked Lauren Huxley in her Northmead home in 2005.
The Serious Offenders Review Council recommended refusing parole, citing Farmer's ongoing denial of his crimes and his failure to complete the Violent Offenders Therapeutic Program.
Citing the assault's "horrific" nature, the authority mandated one-on-one risk mitigation sessions with a Corrective Services NSW psychologist, deeming completion critical given Farmer's ongoing denial.
Lauren Huxley's sister, Simone Gibson, said the family felt they could "breathe again" following the ruling, expressing relief after years of dread.
Farmer will not be reconsidered until next year, though his total sentence expires on January 31, 2031; he retains the right to apply for a review.
