Siekiant to discourage investments in the countryside, the elder of the Seimas Liberal Movement faction Eugenijus Gentvilas called for personal income tax (PIT) not to be imposed on income from agriculture. He registered this clearly in the Personal Income Tax (PIT) Act. If the Seimas agrees, the amount of personal income tax that individuals would pay monthly or quarterly could be exempt from PIT.
