The Centre hospitalier universitaire de Franche-Comté presented this Tuesday, in Paris, the advances of its UCPVax. A vaccine that has demonstrated its effectiveness in more than 300 patients in some 20 centres in France, notably in the treatment of glioblastoma (tumour in the brain) and of "universal" character, because it targets an enzyme present in most cancers.
Developed at Besançon CHU, UCPVax stimulates the immunity of patients already with cancer. The first trials show immune responses and encouraging clinical signals, to be confirmed on larger cohorts.
