- Dilling endured more than two years of siege by the RSF, which cut off supplies and created famine-like conditions before the military broke the blockade earlier this year.
- The Sudan Doctors Network confirmed the civilian toll, which included five children and two women among the dead, plus seven children among the 23 wounded during the bombardment.
- Both the Sudanese military and the RSF face International Criminal Court investigations for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity since the conflict erupted in April 2023.
- The Sudan Doctors Network warned of a potential "catastrophic scenario" similar to the RSF's October invasion of el-Fasher, where experts cited "hallmarks of genocide" after more than 6,000 people were killed.
