The most recent portrait by the Office Québécois de la Langue Française (OQLF) on the vitality of French in Quebec shows significant disparities between regions, in a context where Montreal and Gatineau stand out from the rest of the province by recording a more marked decrease in the proportion of their citizens who can conduct a conversation in French.
