Panic as Myanmar bomb lands inside Thailand
MAE HONG SON - Thai villagers along the Salween River in Sob Moei district fled their homes on Monday after a bomb dropped by the Myanmar air force landed inside Thai territory during air strikes against ethnic Karen forces.
The district chief of Sop Moei ordered the immediate evacuation of residents of Mae Sam Laep village along the Salween River due to fighting in Myanmar after 7-9 bombs were dropped from aircraft, one of which landed on the Thai side. The authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
