‘Immediately Stop Using’: Toaster Oven Recalled with Refund Available
Panasonic said 2,184 units were sold in Canada and about 11,500 in the U.S. as it warned of an electric shock hazard.
- Health Canada and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a joint recall Thursday for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens, models NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, due to an electrical shock hazard.
- Insufficient power cord insulation caused by a protective fiberglass sleeve failing to adequately cover the cord creates a potential shock or fire hazard. Panasonic issued the voluntary recall to address this manufacturing flaw.
- Panasonic sold about 11,500 units in the United States and 2,184 in Canada between November 2025 and March 2026 for about $170 each, primarily through Amazon, Costco, and Panasonic.com.
- Consumers should "immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to Panasonic Canada Inc. for a refund." While Panasonic has received five reports of tripped circuit breakers in the United States, no injuries have been reported.
- To obtain a refund, customers can contact Panasonic at 1-888-422-6296 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, with support provided in English and French.
